Why we started
Because the admin was never the reason anyone started a business
Nic spent years inside other people's businesses — and saw the same thing every time. Brilliant, capable owners quietly drowning in the back office. Invoices going out late. Enquiries left sitting. Good ideas parked indefinitely because there was simply no room left in the week.
Hiring wasn't the answer either: too expensive, too slow, too permanent for a business still finding its shape. So in 2021 Nic Gray & Associates was set up to be the middle option — senior, experienced support you can borrow for the days you need it.

The people you'll actually work with
Nic Gray — Founder & Fractional Business Support Manager
Nic leads the client work: systems and processes, operations, finance admin, projects and the things that keep getting postponed. She's also an Advanced ADHD Coach and an ADHD UK Ambassador — ADHD herself — which is why so much of what we build is designed around how a brain actually works, not how a productivity book says it should.
Eleanor — Business Support Manager
Eleanor joined in April 2025 and works alongside Nic on the day-to-day: the admin, the follow-up, the detail and the steady behind-the-scenes work that keeps client businesses moving. She's the reason things don't get dropped.
You won't be handed round a team you've never met. With us, you know exactly who is in your business — and they know exactly how it works.
